Class of 1977: Alexander Lozano, M.D., an Otolaryngology Surgeon in Santa Rosa, Calif., flew to Benin, West Africa, in October where he volunteered with Mercy Ships onboard the world's largest private hospital ship. Patients often present with conditions not seen in the U.S. due to the lack of surgery available in Benin.

Class of 1982: Charles Wallace, M.D., following a 27-year career in private practice as a plastic surgeon, has gained a commission in the United States Navy Reserve as a Lieutenant Commander.

Class of 2000: John T. Carlo, M.D., was installed as the 134th President of the Dallas County Medical Society on Jan. 19. Dr. Carlo is also the CEO of AIDS Arms, Inc., a non-profit, community-based HIV/AIDS service organization.

Class of 2012: Nirma Bustamante, M.D., is the International Emergency Medicine Fellow at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Dr. Bustamante is planning to run in the 2017 Boston Marathon to honor the legacy and memory of Michael J. Davidson, M.D., who was murdered while at work at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and to raise money to benefit the Michael J. Davidson, M.D., Fellowship Fund, which was established in his honor.
