“My family has been very supportive throughout UT Southwestern Medical School, and it has been a dream come true to go to medical school in the same area where I grew up,” he said. He earned his undergraduate degree in biology at Baylor University, where he worked out a purposeful life course.

“I plan to focus my studies on the urban underserved,” Dr. Baron said. “I am interested in social justice, community outreach, and women’s health.

I ended up dropping 40 pounds, and my husband lost 30 pounds. It was the boost we needed to get a more heart-healthy lifestyle going.” But her transformation didn’t end there. Until she quit her job, she hadn’t realized how unhappy she was.
