Exploring Club and Post
STARS, in collaboration with the Exploring Division of Circle Ten Council, Boy Scouts of America, has started a program for youth who are interested in health and science careers.
The Exploring Post is focused towards high school students (9th - 12th grade) and the Exploring Club is geared towards middle school students (6th - 8th grade). No other Scouting experience is necessary to participate in the Exploring Program. It is designed to help young people make educated decisions about their future by allowing them to gain practical experience in different career fields.
The Exploring Post and Club groups meet once a month during the school year in the evenings on our campus, and is organized by a core group of UT Southwestern volunteers and parents of student participants. In addition to regular meetings, students are invited to take advantage of social activities put on by the Scouting Circle Ten Council, where they can participate until they are 20 years old. The Exploring Program adds a unique feature to UT Southwestern that directly benefits local DFW communities and attracts young adults to our school who may be future students or employees. More adult volunteers and student members are always needed, so please contact STARS for more information on how to participate.
