STARS provides a number of learning and enrichment opportunities for secondary science teachers and their students. All STARS programs are available free of charge.

Basic Science Symposia

Current topics in biomedical research are presented by UT Southwestern Medical Center faculty in two- and six-hour programs.

Summer Research Opportunities

Texas science teachers and current high school juniors students spend eight weeks working in a research laboratory.

Summer Science Camps in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Middle School Science, Anatomy and Physiology, and Biotechnology

The camps are designed to provide high school and middle school science teachers with experience and increase their confidence in laboratory exercises, and to give a head-start to students who will take the corresponding science classes the following school year.
