Required Next Steps
- Update Your Personal Email Address and Mailing Address
Go to PeopleSoft > Employee Self Service > Personal Details to update your personal email address and home mailing address. This will ensure UT Southwestern can contact you and share important information with you after you leave employment.
- Set Up Electronic Access to Your Next W-2
The Payroll Department offers guidance before you leave UT Southwestern (link requires VPN) so that you can set up online and/or mobile access to your next W-2 after you leave employment at UT Southwestern.

- Find Out How Long Benefits Last
Your insurance will end on the last day of the month you are employed, provided your last payroll check is enough to cover your insurance premiums.
- Access Teacher Retirement System Money
To request a refund of your Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) contributions or to check your TRS balance, contact TRS at 800-223-8778 or visit the TRS website for more information.
- Make Catastrophic Sick Leave Donation
For information about donating your sick leave to the Catastrophic Sick Leave pool, contact 214-648-9840.
- Get a Vacation Payout
You will receive a vacation payout check for any unused vacation accruals. This will be processed after your last regular paycheck via your usual pay method (for example, direct deposit). For more information, contact Payroll at 214-648-0800.
