Daman Saini, B.S.

Daman Saini is currently a P4 pursuing her Doctor of Pharmacy and Master of Public Health Leadership dual degree at UNT Health Fort Worth. She graduated with a B.S. in Biomedical Science and B.S. in Public Health from Texas A&M University in 2022.

Daman is grateful to be a part of this internship program at UTSW due to the numerous opportunities it gives her for personal and professional growth as a future pharmacist. She is determined to pursue a residency in a specialty of interest. Currently, she is intrigued by ambulatory care, emergency medicine, and psychiatry.

At UNT Health Fort Worth, she served as president-elect (P2 year) and president (P3 year) for the American Society of Consultant Pharmacy (ASCP) organization. She is also involved in other organizations such as the Student Society of Health-System Pharmacy (SSHP) and Texas Pharmacy Association (TPA). Daman completed a one-year public health internship with Dr. Teresa Wagner, focusing on health literacy and administering Narcan training programs for the Fort Worth community. In her free time, she enjoys spending quality time with family and her two golden retrievers, Aero and Jager.

Jarrett Pickard, M.S., BMS

Born in Columbia, MO, raised in Abilene, TX, Pickard graduated from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, TX, with a Bachelor's in Science. He earned a Master’s in Biomedical Sciences at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. Currently he's a Pharm. D. candidate of the UNTHSC class of 2026.

Now working as a Pharmacy Intern at UTSW Medical Center, his post-graduation goals are to apply for residency with a specialty in critical care or home infusion.

Outside of school and work, he enjoys exercising, soccer, esports, golfing, music and cooking.

Nathan Khaodeuanepheng, M.S., MBA

Nathan Khaodeuanepheng is currently a pharmacy intern at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He is a fourth-year pharmacy student at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Jerry H. Hodges School of Pharmacy. Nathan received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Baylor University in 2018, Master of Science in Biochemistry from Texas State University in 2022, and his Master of Business Administration at Texas Tech University in 2025.

Nathan chose the UTSW Pharmacy intern program because of the variety of providers available to learn from here, as well as the positive work environment. His current interest in pharmacy includes Oncology, Ambulatory Care, and Pediatrics. Nathan was previously the treasurer for the Delta Kappa Chapter of Phi Delta Chi and served as the Chief Intern 2023 and 2024 at UTSW.

During his free time, Nathan enjoys working on cars, staying active, and spending time with family.

Thomas Gassert

Thomas Gassert is a P4 at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth. He was born and raised in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and earned an undergraduate degree in biochemistry from the University of Arkansas in 2020.

Thomas is very grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the acute care pharmacy internship program at UTSW and believes it will help elevate and prepare him for his professional aspirations. Some of his current career interests revolve around infectious disease and psychiatric pharmacy, as well as different medical affairs specialties in industry. He is involved in organizations such as Industry Pharmacists Organization and Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity, and loves giving back any chance he can get.

In his free time, Thomas enjoys trying new coffee shops, long drives that turn into unexpected vacations, and a fun game night with friends. He also likes to go to concerts and hiking with his dog when the weather is nice.

Asha Oommen

Asha Oommen is currently a P3 student at Texas Tech Jerry H. Hodge School of Pharmacy (Dallas). She was born in Houston, Texas but spent a number of years living in both India and Southern California, the latter of which is where she completed her prerequisites at the University of California, Los Angeles.

Her experience as an intern at UT Southwestern has provided her with valuable insight into the inner workings of a clinical pharmacy and serves as a fundamental stepping stone into her desire to pursue residency upon graduation. She is currently interested in exploring career opportunities in pharmacy administration, emergency medicine, or critical care.

Asha currently serves as an active member and leader in many student organizations such as Phi Delta Chi (PDC), Phi Lambda Sigma (PLS), Dallas Area Pharmacy Association (DAPA), and more. In her free time, Asha enjoys working on her reselling business, attending concerts, spending time with friends and family, and exploring new cities.

Brittiana McDowell

Brittiana McDowell is currently a P3 student at the University of North Texas System College of Pharmacy and serves as a pharmacy intern at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Langston University, where her undergraduate research experiences first sparked her interest in medicinal research and the therapeutic potential of chemical sciences. After graduation, she began her career as a secondary science educator, where she discovered a deep passion for pharmacists as educators from observing the intersection between science and patient care in pharmacy.

Brittiana is especially grateful for her experience in the Acute Care Pharmacy Intern Program, which has provided her with invaluable opportunities for mentorship, research, and professional development. The program’s diverse training environment continues to strengthen her preparation for a future career in pharmacy.

Her current professional interests include Hematology/Oncology, Managed Care, and Academia. Following graduation, Brittiana hopes to pursue postgraduate training within one of these fields. She remains actively involved in several student organizations, including the Student National Pharmaceutical Association, Phi Delta Chi, Rho Chi and Phi Lambda Sigma. Outside of her academic and professional pursuits, she enjoys traveling with her husband, spending time with her dog, Dash, and exploring new activities throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth area.

Jacob Castro, BSN, RN

Jacob is currently a P3 pharmacy student at the University of North Texas Health. Before pursuing pharmacy, he studied nursing at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. His nursing background has provided him with a strong foundation in patient care, which he now applies to his pharmacy studies to enhance his understanding of treatment and therapeutic strategies.

Jacob is grateful to be part of the Acute Care Pharmacy Internship Program at UT Southwestern, where he has learned a great deal and continues to grow in his clinical pharmacy knowledge. His pharmacy interests include ambulatory care, drug information, and pharmacy administration. He hopes to pursue a residency or fellowship post-graduation to further specialize in one of these areas.

At UNT Health, Jacob is actively involved in Student Government and Rho Chi and serves as a Student Ambassador, where he enjoys networking with fellow and prospective students. Outside of school, Jacob enjoys spending quality time with his wife and family, trying new foods, and sports.

Sarina George

Sarina George is a third-year student pursuing a Doctor of Pharmacy and Master of Business Administration dual degree at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Texas Woman’s University. Sarina is honored to be part of the internship program at UT Southwestern, where she is excited to gain hands-on clinical experience and further explore her passion for patient-centered care.

At TTUHSC, Sarina was selected for the Honors Research Program, where she contributes to neuropsychopharmacology projects. Within her school, she serves as President-Elect of the American Pharmacists Association, TTUHSC Student Ambassador, and Education Coordinator for the American Association of Psychiatric Pharmacists. She is also an active member of several other organizations, including the Student Chapter of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, Christian Pharmacists Fellowship International, and the Foundation for International Medical Relief of Children.

After pharmacy school, Sarina plans to pursue a residency and build a career specializing in her areas of interest, which include psychiatry, neurology, academia, and pediatrics. In her free time, she enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, staying involved in church, and exploring new coffee shops.

Bethany Levey

Bethany Levey is a second-year pharmacy student at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Jerry H. Hodge School of Pharmacy. Originally from the Dallas–Fort Worth area, she earned her bachelor’s degree in biomedical science from Texas A&M University, where her interest in patient-centered care and the biomedical sciences inspired her to pursue a career in pharmacy.

Bethany is excited to be part of the UT Southwestern Pharmacy Intern Program, where she looks forward to broadening her clinical experience and exploring the diverse areas of pharmacy practice. She has a particular interest in oncology pharmacy and hopes to gain valuable insight into specialized patient care through this experience.

She currently serves as the Dallas Campus Vice President for her school’s NCODA (Network for Collaborative Oncology Development & Advancement) chapter. Outside of her studies, Bethany enjoys spending time with family and friends. Her hobbies include baking, cooking, reading, and sewing, which provide a creative balance to her academic life.

As a pharmacy intern at UT Southwestern Medical Center, Heidi is grateful to learn within a leading academic medical center known for rigorous, patient-centered care. She values the Pharmacy Internship Program’s structured clinical learning, strong preceptor mentorship, and meaningful exposure to diverse inpatient and ambulatory services. She is continually inspired by UT Southwestern’s pharmacist team, whose teaching culture, professionalism, and commitment to excellence set a high bar for trainee development and future residency preparation.

In her free time, Heidi enjoys going on walks, exploring new restaurants, and spending time with her cat, Harriet.

She’s originally from Houston, Texas and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Texas A&M University. She is grateful to be part of the UT Southwestern Acute Care Pharmacy Intern Program, which provides extensive learning opportunities and hands-on clinical pharmacy experience. Janika intends to pursue a residency upon graduation, with current interests in pharmacy administration and critical care.

She is actively involved in several organizations, serving as Class President for her cohort on the Dallas Student Council, Director of Professional Programming for the Industry Pharmacists Organization, a Student Ambassador, and a member of the Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity’s Eta Beta chapter.
