Graduate Medical Education Committee

The Graduate Medical Education Committee (GMEC) works in collaboration with the Designated Institutional Official (DIO) to provide meaningful oversight of UT Southwestern’s GME enterprise.  GMEC meets twice each quarter and is chaired by the Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education.  Membership consists of representative Program Directors, peer-selected residents/fellows, and other faculty administrators.  Representatives of major training sites are ex-officio members.

House Staff Council

  • Serves as the recognized forum that allows residents/fellows from within and across UTSW’s graduate medical education programs to communicate and exchange information with each other relevant to their training programs and their learning and working environment.
  • Shares resident and fellow concerns with institutional leadership through the Designated Institutional Official (DIO) and the Graduate Medical Education Committee (GMEC). 

Program Director Advisory Council (PDAC)

Enhances the quality of UT Southwestern’s Graduate Medical Education enterprise by:

  • Optimizing and facilitating communication between and among Program Directors, the Graduate Medical Education Committee, the Designated Institutional Official, the Office of Graduate Medical Education, and the hospitals that serve as major training sites.
  • Providing an organized forum in which Program Directors may exchange best practices and raise issues of concern.
  • Training and developing Program Directors and core faculty members.

Program Coordinator Advisory Council (PCAC)

Purpose — To enhance the quality of UT Southwestern’s Graduate Medical Education enterprise by:

  • Optimizing and facilitating communication between and among Program Coordinators, the UTSW Office of Graduate Medical Education, and the GME Offices of the hospitals that serve as major training sites.
  • Providing an organized forum in which Program Coordinators may exchange best practices and raise issues of concern.
  • Training and developing Program Coordinators.
