Our Faculty
Fellows learn from a diverse faculty group with training backgrounds from across the country, as well as from subspecialists, nurses, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, child life specialists, social workers, interpreters, emergency medical services and transport professionals, residents, medical students, one another, and – most importantly – the patients and families they serve.
Rotations
The academic year is organized into 13 blocks, each 28 days long. The schedule provides broad exposure to pediatric emergency medicine and focused experience in complementary disciplines. The exact distribution varies by fellowship year and by pediatrics-trained versus emergency-medicine-trained pathway.

Conferences
Fellows attend:
- Weekly Pediatric Emergency Medicine conference on Wednesdays
- Department of Pediatrics Grand Rounds, typically held before PEM didactics on Wednesday mornings
- Journal Club at least monthly
The educational curriculum also includes simulation, board review, toxicology lectures, morbidity and mortality discussions, multidisciplinary conferences, research and quality-improvement presentations, and additional seminars and workshops across UT Southwestern and Children's Health.
