Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship Program Research
Fellows in UT Southwestern’s Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship Program are expected to engage in meaningful scholarly activity during their training. This can include basic science, translational or clinical research, systematic reviews of the literature, curriculum development, or quality improvement initiatives.
Our goal is for each fellow to present their work at a national meeting and publish in a peer-reviewed journal before graduation. Just as importantly, we aim to foster a lasting appreciation for scholarship and provide a strong foundation for future academic work.
We do not expect fellows to begin their fellowship with a defined project. Dedicated research time during the first year allows fellows to explore interests and identify projects. Fellows are supported by a wide range of experienced mentors within the Heart Center, with additional opportunities to collaborate with faculty across the institution.
We have a dedicated research curriculum to provide fellows with education on these important topics.
