UT Southwestern's Cyclotron and Radiochemistry Program facility produces radiotracers for positron emission tomography (PET) scanning. We will also design and synthesize novel compounds labeled with radionuclides produced by the cyclotron for preclinical and clinical applications.

The cyclotron produces biomedical radioisotopes with half-lives ranging from minutes to hours. Having these radioisotopes readily available on campus significantly expands the opportunities for basic science and clinical research through PET.

Our facility can also incorporate the radioisotopes into biologically active molecules with applications in both preclinical and clinical studies.
