Patient Care

As part of one of the world's leading academic medical centers, excellence in patient care and outcomes is integral to our mission.

Members of the Department of Radiology perform nearly 1 million exams annually across the facilities we serve.

Clinical Programs

  • Brain Focused Ultrasound Program

Our multidisciplinary team, led by Bhavya R. Shah, M.D., uses transcranial focused ultrasound to treat movement disorders, including essential tremor and Parkinson’s disease, as part of the clinical program. In addition, Dr. Shah leads clinical trials for brain tumors, Alzheimer's disease and other neurodegenerative diseases, as well as neuropsychiatric indications. Learn more about the Brain Focused Ultrasound Program.

  • TULSA Program

UT Southwestern’s Prostate Imaging and Interventions Program brings together expert radiologists and urologists to provide advanced MRI-based diagnosis and minimally invasive treatment options for patients with suspected or confirmed prostate cancer. The program offers specialized services including MRI-guided prostate biopsy and MRI-guided transurethral ultrasound ablation (TULSA), a personalized, incision-free treatment designed to precisely target cancer while preserving surrounding healthy tissue.
