Novakovic named chair-elect for stroke committee
Dr. Roberta “Robin” Novakovic is chair-elect of the North Central Texas Trauma Regional Advisory Council’s Stroke Committee. She will serve as the committee chair following her two-year term as chair-elect.
An Associate Professor of Radiology and a member of the Neuroradiology Division, Dr. Novakovic says she hopes she can influence the proper triage of patients experiencing acute stroke to the appropriate North Texas hospital, as well as represent UT Southwestern as a leader in the field.
The Stroke Committee is responsible for developing an Acute Stroke System Plan and regional guidelines, including recommendations for pre-hospital assessment tools and treatment guidelines. The North Central Texas Regional Advisory Council is the largest Trauma Service Area in the state, covering 19 counties.
