Neuroradiology chief Maldjian receives Distinguished Educator award from research academy

Dr. Joseph Maldjian, Professor of Radiology and the Advanced Imaging Research Center, was among 19 researchers from across the nation to receive the 2017 Distinguished Investigator Award from the Academy for Radiological & Biomedical Imaging Research. The award recognizes individuals for their demonstrated accomplishments as independent investigators in the field of medical imaging who have made significant research contributions and maintain a substantial research program.

 

Dr. Maldjian was inducted into the Academy’s Council of Distinguished Investigators during a ceremony at the Radiological Society of North America’s meeting in Chicago. Recipients of the award are ranked in the top 10 percent of Radiology Department faculty nationwide, according to Dr. Reed A. Omary, co-chair of the Academy’s Distinguished Investigator Council.

 

Dr. Maldjian is Chief of the Neuroradiology Division and Director of the Advanced Neuroscience Imaging Research Lab, part of the Peter O’Donnell Jr. Brain Institute.
