Program Structure
The Master's Program curriculum is divided into two years:
Year 1: Foundational Coursework
Students complete all required coursework in the first year, covering essential topics in medical physics and biomedical sciences.
Fall Term (10 Credit Hours):
- Professionalism, Responsible Conduct of Research, and Ethics I (1)
- Fundamentals of Imaging in Medicine (3)
- Human Anatomy and Physiology (3)
- Radiological Physics and Dosimetry (3)
Spring Term (10 Credit Hours):
- Professionalism, Responsible Conduct of Research, and Ethics II (1)
- Radiation Protection and Safety (3)
- Radiobiology (3)
- Radiation Therapy Physics (3)
Summer Term (4 Credit Hours):
- Introduction to Capstone Project (3)
- Introduction to Clinical Practicum (1)
Year 2: Capstone and Clinical Experience
The second year focuses on a capstone project and clinical practicums, with opportunities to take electives tailored to individual interests.
Fall Term (9 Credit Hours):
- Elective Lab I (3)
- Capstone Project Data Collection (3)
- Clinical Practicum I (3)
Spring Term (9 Credit Hours):
- Elective Lab II (3)
- Capstone Project Implementation and Evaluation (3)

Program Director
The program is led by Andrew Godley, Ph.D., FAAPM, Professor and Associate Vice Chair of Clinical Physics Operations and Quality, and includes instruction and mentorship from clinical physics faculty across the Department of Radiation Oncology.
