At UT Southwestern’s Division of Pediatric Endocrinology, we provide comprehensive, compassionate, and family-centered endocrine care for infants, children, and adolescents across North Central Texas. Our multidisciplinary team delivers leading-edge outpatient services and inpatient consultations – ensuring each child receives tailored, expert support from diagnosis through treatment. 

Our Care Team

Our patient-first approach is supported by a highly trained, collaborative team that includes:

  • Board-certified pediatric endocrinologists
  • Advanced practice nurses, including nurse practitioners
  • Certified diabetes educators (CDCESs)
  • Registered nurses and licensed dietitians
  • Social workers and clinical pharmacists

This diverse team ensures coordinated management of endocrine conditions – from thyroid and growth disorders to diabetes, adrenal, and calcium abnormalities. 

Endocrine Clinic

Our fully equipped outpatient endocrine clinic offers:

  • Evaluation and treatment for growth, puberty, thyroid, adrenal, calcium metabolism, and sexual development disorders
  • Specialized genetic and metabolic diagnostic services
  • Rapid evaluation of abnormal newborn screening results, in partnership with the Texas Department of State Health Services, for congenital hypothyroidism, congenital adrenal hyperplasia, and adrenoleukodystrophy.

Diabetes Clinic

Our bilingual diabetes clinic specializes in:

  • Comprehensive management of Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes
  • Education programs covering insulin therapy, carbohydrate counting, sick-day protocols, and all varieties of diabetes technology, including the latest closed-loop pumps
  • A collaborative team approach to support children and families through all stages of disease management 

COACH: Center for Obesity and Its Consequences in Health

As the only dedicated pediatric obesity program in North Texas, our COACH clinic: 

  • Serves 600+ referrals annually
  • Utilizes individualized treatment plans developed by a team of physicians, advanced practice nurses, dietitians, psychologists, and social workers
  • Focuses on medical assessment, dietary/exercise intervention, behavioral health strategies, and long-term lifestyle planning

Inpatient Consultation Services

Our physicians consult across the greater hospital system – including ICU, oncology, and general wards – managing conditions such as:

  • Secondary diabetes
  • Hypoglycemia, adrenal insufficiency
  • Electrolyte imbalances and endocrine emergencies

We maintain a dedicated service available 24/7 to support high-acuity endocrine care.
