Marcia Schneider, M.B.A.

Vice President, Health System Strategy and Business Development and Chief Strategy Officer

Marcia Schneider rejoined UT Southwestern in February 2019 as Vice President, Health System Strategy and Business Development and Chief Strategy Officer.

A veteran health care system executive, Ms. Schneider directs the strategic planning, business development, and health care delivery system transformation for the UT Southwestern Health System.

Previously, she was Assistant Vice President for Health System Planning and Performance at UT Southwestern, supporting the strategic development of the UT Southwestern-Texas Health Resources collaboration and the resulting Southwestern Health Resources network. She also led the planning and programming for UT Southwestern’s William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital, which opened in December 2014.

Most recently, she was Vice President of Administration at Baylor Scott & White Health, leading operational transformation.

Ms. Schneider holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas at El Paso.

Lauren Beckman, M.H.A.

Associate Vice President of Regional Medical Group Services

Lauren Beckman joined UT Southwestern in 2022 and currently serves as Associate Vice President of Regional Medical Group Services at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She is the primary administrative lead for the Health System in joint efforts with regional hospitals and other affiliated health systems, including Texas Health Resources. In conjunction with Health System executive leaders and department chairs, she also directs the growth and development of UT Southwestern Medical Group services across our regional campuses, ensuring alignment with institutional missions of delivering exceptional care, education, and research.

Ms. Beckman’s leadership experience spans academic, community, and network-based health systems, encompassing clinical operations, finance, strategy, research, and physician practice management. She previously spent more than two decades in senior leadership roles at leading academic medical centers, including Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Stanford University Medical Center. In these positions, she helped drive program and service line development and improvements in access, clinical integration, and financial performance.

Ms. Beckman holds a Master of Healthcare Administration from Framingham State University.

Mike Beheshti, M.B.A.

Associate Vice President for Health System Planning

Mike Beheshti, M.B.A., is Associate Vice President for Health System Planning. In his role, Mr. Beheshti leads a team of internal advisers that provides data-driven consultative services (i.e., strategic, financial, operational, and market growth) to the Health System.

Mr. Beheshti joined UT Southwestern in 2015 and has held various leadership roles focused on strategic planning for the Health System. Prior to joining UT Southwestern, Mr. Beheshti was part of PwC’s Health Industries Advisory Practice, providing consulting services to academic medical centers, community hospitals, and provider groups.

Mr. Beheshti holds a Master of Business Administration from the Marriott School of Business at Brigham Young University.

Kenny Grifno, Ph.D.

Associate Vice President for Strategic Intelligence and Advanced Analytics

Kenny Grifno, Ph.D., serves as Associate Vice President for Strategic Intelligence and Advanced Analytics at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where he partners across Health System Strategy and Managed Care to advance enterprise-wide analytics and decision support.

With more than 25 years of experience spanning academic, health care, and private sectors, Dr. Grifno has held key analytics roles at UT Southwestern, CenseoHealth, and Perot Systems. Most recently, he was chief analytics officer at IntegerHealth, where he led enterprise and partner initiatives in product development, analytics strategy, data management, and data governance.

An innovator with five U.S. patents in health care data analytics and visualization, Dr. Grifno has developed novel methods for integrating structured and unstructured clinical data, enabling faster, more interpretable, and more measurable insights. He helped establish one of the nation’s first graduate programs in health care analytics at the University of Arkansas Sam M. Walton College of Business. A dedicated educator, Dr. Grifno has taught courses in SQL, Python, data management, AI, machine learning, and health care analytics at the University of Arkansas, Texas Christian University, and the University of Hawaii.

Passionate about integrating business, programming, analytics, and health care, Dr. Grifno focuses on developing solutions that deliver meaningful outcomes across the health care ecosystem. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration from Oklahoma State University and a Master of Science in Management Information Systems from the University of Texas at Dallas.

Alan Kramer, M.P.H.

Associate Vice President of Health System Emerging Strategies & Market Development

Alan Kramer joined UT Southwestern in 2019 and currently serves as Associate Vice President of Health System Emerging Strategies & Market Development. In this position, Mr. Kramer drives organizational growth through practice development, market development, and physician outreach. In addition, he leads the digital health and virtual care strategy and execution and develops patient-access strategies supporting the clinical strategic plan.

His previous experience includes roles at Baylor Scott & White Health in Dallas and Emory Healthcare in Atlanta, Georgia. In addition to executive leadership, Mr. Kramer has served as an educator and taught courses in health policy and management at Emory University.

Mr. Kramer holds a Master of Public Health from Emory University.

Michael Satarino

Associate Vice President for Health System Planning and Business Development

Michael Satarino serves as Associate Vice President for Health System Planning and Business Development. In this role, he guides Health System macro strategy, business development, and market intelligence to inform strategic growth opportunities and support decision-making.

Since joining UT Southwestern in 2006, Mr. Satarino has held progressive leadership roles that have helped cultivate new business opportunities, advance expansion initiatives, and grow service lines in support of patient care.
