Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

The Employee Assistance Program is a confidential short-term counseling service to help employees resolve problems that may affect their personal life or work performance.

Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)

In compliance with the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 (the "FMLA"), all employees of UT Southwestern are eligible for up to 12 weeks of family and medical leave during a twelve-month period for certain family reasons, provided they have been employed for 12 months by the State of Texas, and have worked at least 1,250 hours during the 12-month period immediately preceding the commencement of leave.

Texas State Parental Leave

UT Southwestern allows up to 12 weeks of unpaid Parental Leave for eligible employees who are ineligible for family and medical leave coverage for either the birth of a natural child or for the adoption or foster care placement of children under three years of age, as provided for by state law.
