UT Southwestern  requires Conflict of Interest (COI) Training, which is provided as a web-based tutorial through the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI).

Covered Individuals must complete CITI COI Training every four years, or:

• within 30 days of employment
• prior to engaging in research

CITI COI training generally takes about 30 minutes to complete.

UT Southwestern Employees

UT Southwestern employees may access CITI COI training here. Individuals can sign in using their UTSW username and password.

Note: The CITI Course site is best viewed with Microsoft Internet Explorer or Firefox.

Other Affiliate Institutions

Individuals from UTSW affiliated institutions may access the CITI COI training as follows:

1. Go to the CITI Course website
2. If you are a new user, click on “Register” and follow the instructions above for First Time CITI Users. If you are a Returning CITI User affiliated with another institution, log in with your Username and Password.
3. On the Main Menu, click on “Click here to affiliate with another institution.”
4. Select “Click here to affiliate with another institution.” IMPORTANT: You must select “University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center” as the Participating Institution to view the appropriate courses.
5. Select “Next” and provide the information requested to finalize the registration.

When all steps are complete, you will receive confirmation, “Your registration with University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is complete.” CITI COI training may then be accessed here, using your username and password.
