Psychology Division

The Psychology Division is dedicated to excellence in patient care, groundbreaking research, and the education of future clinician-researchers. By integrating clinical expertise with scientific innovation, we deliver the highest quality care across a range of patient populations and diagnoses.

Patient Care

Our psychologists provide comprehensive care across the lifespan, serving patients from early childhood through older adulthood. Clinical services address a broad range of conditions, spanning neurodevelopmental disorders to neurodegenerative diseases, and are delivered across UT Southwestern and its affiliated clinical sites throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth area. We conduct specialized neuropsychological evaluations and deliver a wide array of evidence-based psychological assessment and treatment services. Through these efforts, psychologists contribute to multidisciplinary care teams and provide patient-centered, high-quality clinical care across diverse settings.

Research

Our innovative, interdisciplinary research aims to advance the understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of neurological, medical, and psychiatric conditions across the lifespan. Areas of focus include traumatic brain injury, aging and dementia, normal pressure hydrocephalus, suicide prevention and resilience, and neurodevelopmental conditions, while leveraging cutting-edge approaches such as neuromodulation, biomarker-informed diagnostics, and advanced statistical methods. Additional strengths include research in behavioral interventions for depression and complex medical populations, with a central emphasis on identifying individuals at highest risk to deliver targeted, evidence-based care and improve outcomes.

Faculty

Our diverse faculty are involved in clinical, research, teaching, training, and other scholarly endeavors.

Education & Training

We are committed to excellence in education and training across all levels of professional development. Our Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology is an American Psychological Association accredited program that prepares highly skilled psychologists for careers as both clinicians and researchers. The program includes a fully affiliated, separately APA-accredited doctoral internship in clinical psychology, providing a comprehensive and integrated training experience. In addition to doctoral training, advanced postdoctoral fellowships are available in adult and pediatric neuropsychology, health psychology, autism, and developmental disorders. These programs provide specialized, competency-based training within interdisciplinary medical settings, preparing fellows for leadership roles in clinical care, research, and academic medicine.
