The application window is from May 1 to June 30, and prerequisites to apply include having 2 years of service at UT Southwestern by August 31, 2024 and completing DISC training. Have you recently moved into a leadership role?

If you have direct reports and are not classified as faculty, our New Leader Onboarding and Leadership Foundations programs are designed for you. New Leader Onboarding is voluntary to attend and our next cohort begins on May 29, 2024. Leadership Foundations is required for all non-faculty leaders from supervisors through assistant vice presidents. LeadershipFoundations@UTSouthwestern.edu to schedule an upcoming cohort.

Leadership Foundations

  • Required for eligible non-faculty people managers with supervisory responsibility
  • Builds leadership and management competencies among new and existing leaders
  • Four all-day sessions across consecutive months
  • Developed in partnership with UT Southwestern executive leaders

About the Leadership Initiative

The Leadership Initiative at UT Southwestern for non-faculty employees endeavors to foster institutional excellence by encouraging personal growth and providing professional enrichment via three primary leadership programs. These programs provide a comprehensive pathway for eligible employees to grow and mature in their careers as they learn and hone their leadership skills.
