Critical Care - Pediatric

The Pediatric Critical Care Fellowship Program offers APPs specialized training focused on pediatric critical care. Over the course of the program, which primarily takes place at Children’s Health Medical Center Dallas, participants engage in rotations across pediatric intensive care units, cardiac units, and other specialized areas, to enhance their ability to care for critically ill children.

Fellows gain hands-on experience managing a diverse range of critical care cases in high-volume ICUs, with exposure to advanced modes of mechanical ventilation, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), solid organ transplants, complex cardiac cases, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), neurocritical care, and trauma. Emphasizing family-centered care and effective communication within pediatric critical care teams, the program equips fellows with essential skills to thrive in this challenging and rewarding field.
