Program Directors Message

Thank you for your interest in the combined Internal Medicine-Pediatrics (Med-Peds) Residency Program at UT Southwestern Medical Center. We’re excited about training the next generation of well-rounded physicians. In the rapidly evolving world of medicine, the skills of Med-Peds doctors are more critical than ever. We’re seeking residents from diverse backgrounds who will join us on this journey—to radically improve the way care is designed, coordinated, and delivered as members of an outstanding program with strong collaborations with the larger national Med-Peds community.

YYou’ll be part of a close-knit Med-Peds community that builds on the foundation of two exceptional, well-established categorical training programs in internal medicine and pediatrics. The full array of educational opportunities in each categorical program is available to you, including research, medical education, global health, quality improvement, and advocacy.

"We’re seeking residents from diverse backgrounds who will join us on this journey—to radically improve the way care is designed, coordinated, and delivered as members of an outstanding program with strong collaborations with the larger national Med-Peds community."

Through clinical training at three world-class institutions—William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital, Parkland Health & Hospital System, and Children’s HealthTM Children’s Medical Center—you’ll develop the skills needed to provide the highest-quality, compassionate care to a diverse patient population throughout the lifespan.

We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all curriculum. With UT Southwestern’s rich training environment and a faculty dedicated to supporting your unique interests and passions, the individualized training options are limitless. Whether your career goals include primary care, hospitalist medicine, global health, transitional medicine, or subspecialty care from birth to geriatrics, our program is well-equipped to support your journey.

We look forward to training and guiding tomorrow’s Med-Peds physicians, scholars, advocates, educators, and leaders, and we hope you’ll join us.
