Brad Bender, M.H.A., is the Department Administrator for Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center. His expertise covers strategic planning, research administration, service line development, resource and financial management. In addition to a deep understanding of supporting leadership in academic medicine at his most recent role as a Senior Director at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, he partnered closely with executive leaders to advance strategic planning, operational performance, and program growth. Brad has held key pediatrics leadership positions at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan, Rush University Children’s Hospital, and the University of Chicago.

He is an active contributor to national professional organizations including the Association of Administrators in Academic Pediatrics (AAAP), the Children’s Hospital Association (CHA), the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), and the American College of Health Care Executives (ACHE). He has also served on Truman State University’s Health Education Advisory Board since 2013.

Brad holds undergraduate degrees in health science and business administration from Truman State University and a Master of Healthcare Administration from Seton Hall University.

Personal Note: Brad enjoys spending time with his family. He also enjoys trying out new restaurants and traveling internationally.
