Administrative Core
The Administrative Core will oversee the North Texas Alzheimer's Disease Research Center's (NT-ADRC) activities to achieve its mission of:
- Strengthening Alzheimer's disease and related dementias (AD/ADRD) research
- Enhancing clinical and educational activities in the North Texas area
- Contributing to the national network of ADRCs
The Administrative Core sets the NT-ADRC's research priorities, encourages new innovative lines of research and interactions among the cores and investigators at all levels, and serves as a central location for dissemination of knowledge to the local scientific and lay communities.
We structured the Administrative Core to serve the NT-ADRC's key mission and activities and to serve as a hub for internal and external connections. The Director and the Executive Committee oversee the proper utilization of the Center's resources, ensuring they have the maximum impact on the AD/ADRD field and accomplish our aims. The Executive Committee has the critical role of advising the Director in making scientific and administrative decisions related to the NT-ADRC. They facilitate building the network of collaborative scientists and clinicians who will work towards accomplishing the Center's aims.
The Administrative Core aims to:
- Provide governance of the NT-ADRC by planning, coordinating, and integrating all activities of the Center
- Promote innovative and leading-edge research through creating an internal funding program and participating in recruitment and retention of investigators and faculty
- Facilitate internal and external data and biospecimen sharing
- Create opportunities for interaction, networking, exchange of ideas, and result dissemination
- Create a culture of the highest scientific integrity
The Administrative Core will also coordinate visits and work closely with the Internal and External Advisory Committees to further enhance our work toward the global aim of finding effective therapies for these disabling diseases.
