The Seidenfeld Infectious Diseases Research Symposium is the premier showcase for cutting-edge advancements in basic, translational, and clinical research in the field of Infectious Diseases. Launched in 2026, the Symposium is a venue for amplifying scientific discoveries, forging interdisciplinary collaborations across subspecialties, and igniting the curiosities of the next generation of leaders in Infectious Diseases. Each year, trainees at all levels, together with their faculty mentors, are invited to present posters focused on a range of research interests, from antimicrobial resistance and medical education to genomics and molecular diagnostics.

Welcome to the inaugural Seidenfeld Infectious Diseases Annual Research Symposium, hosted by the Division of Infectious Diseases and Geographic Medicine at UT Southwestern. As a Premier Infectious Diseases referral center committed to advancing novel therapeutics, innovative research and the cultivation of academic leaders, this symposium serves as a platform to showcase cutting-edge advancements in basic, translational and clinical research in the field of Infectious Diseases at UT Southwestern. From antimicrobial resistance and medical education to genomics and molecular diagnostics, the symposium will serve as a venue to amplify your work, forge interdisciplinary collaborations across subspecialties, and ignite the curiosity of the next generation of Infectious Diseases leaders. Trainees throughout the system and faculty mentors are encouraged to submit abstracts and attend this symposium.”
