Each year the School of Health Professions recognizes outstanding students for their talents and service. Thirteen students were honored at an assembly on Nov. 3 with awards for service, leadership, research, clinical skills, and overall excellence.

Commencements from past graduating classes for Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at UT Southwestern

On Saturday, Dec. 14, 2024, UT Southwestern’s School of Health Professions will celebrate the educational achievements of 130 students at an 11 a.m. commencement ceremony held in the Tom and Lula Gooch Auditorium on South Campus.

UT Southwestern’s School of Health Professions will honor 132 degree candidates from six academic programs, its first in-person commencement since the COVID-19 pandemic began, on Dec. 12.

The American College of Cardiology (ACC) has awarded the 2020 Distinguished Mentor Award to Dr. James de Lemos in honor of contributions to the cardiovasculr profession.

Dr. Matteo Ligorio, a cancer researcher and Assistant Professor in UT Southwestern’s Department of Surgery, has been awarded a Method to Extend Research in Time (MERIT) grant from the National Cancer Institute (NCI). This highly esteemed award will fund a study of his that is currently sponsored by the NCI.
