The administrative and operational team in UT Southwestern’s Office of Advanced Practice Providers (OAPP) was honored with the Team Achiever Award at the 2024 Admin Awards – Dallas Forth Worth and Southwest Region. The seven staffers accepted the recognition during a gala held in Dallas on Nov. 8.

Benjamin Levine, M.D., was awarded the American Astronautical Society’s 2024 Space Life Sciences Award for exceptional scientific leadership. In addition, the Wilderness Medical Society (WMS) selected him for its 2025 Founders Award.

Dai Chung, M.D., M.B.A., Professor of Surgery, has been selected to receive the 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Society of University Surgeons (SUS).

Junyeon Won, Ph.D., a postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Neurology at UT Southwestern and the Institute for Exercise and Environmental Medicine (IEEM) at Texas Health Presbyterian Dallas, won first place in the oral abstract competition at the 2025 North American Artery (NAA) Conference.

Yuh Min Chook, Ph.D., Professor of Pharmacology and Biophysics, has been selected to receive The Protein Society’s 2025 Marie Maynard Daly Award in honor of research that led to the development and eventual Food and Drug Administration approval of a first-in-class drug for cancer.
