The Biochemistry NMR Core is a 24/7, open access facility where, after receiving the required training, users generally operate the instruments themselves and run their own samples. However, services are also available to UTSW internal users who prefer to have their samples run for them by facility staff and to customers outside of the University. Another option is to have the facility staff as a collaborator in a research project.

All users must complete the MR safety I and II training and sign and submit the MR Screening Form and the Biochemistry NMR Safety Form before they are permitted to enter the magnet rooms or request NMR training. There will be no exception to this rule. Anyone who let an unauthorized person into a magnet room, such as lending your key or opening the door for that person, will be held accountable and face disciplinary and/or possible legal actions.

The Electron Microscopy Core Facility (EMCF) offers TEM of cells & tissues, negative staining, whole-mount SEM, correlative LM and EM, and Immunogold labeling.

MBR Services have experienced practitioners of the biophysical methods. They can design, execute, and analyze biophysical experiments with macromolecules that you supply. This approach can be useful when time to complete an experiment is short or when no lab personnel are available to undergo training.

The Protein Chemistry Core at UT Southwestern uses MALDI TOF mass spectrometry to measure synthetic or naturally isolated peptides and small proteins.

The Protein Chemistry Technology Core staff collaborates with PIs on projects involving complex experiments in peptide synthesis or mass-spectrometric analysis.
