Annual Enrollment

The Annual Benefits Enrollment period allows enrolling in or changing benefits for the upcoming plan year, including adding or removing dependents, adding a Flexible Spending Account (FSA), signing up for Short-Term Disability Insurance, and more.

This is the only time you may make changes to your benefits unless you have a qualifying life event (e.g., loss or gain of group health insurance, change in marital status, birth/adoption of a child, etc.).

New elections or changes will go into effect Sept. 1, 2026, which marks the beginning of the new benefit plan year. Voluntary Life and Disability Insurance coverage will become effective upon approval of Evidence of Insurability (EOI), if applicable.

Changes and New for FY27

  • Preventive Care Incentive Program (PCIP)

Our UT SELECT medical plan will begin to include a requirement for annual preventive care, which is shown to improve overall health outcomes. Annual preventive exams are included in your plan and do not require a co-pay.

All employees and spouses enrolled in the UT SELECT plan must receive an annual preventive exam between February 2026 and February 2027. If one is not on file by Feb. 28, 2027, each enrolled employee and/or spouse will begin paying a $50 monthly premium starting May 2027.

Visit the UT System Preventive Care Incentive Program for full details.
