- How many administrative fellows do you accept each year?
We accept up to two (2) fellows each year into the program.
- How long is the fellowship program?
18 months.
- Is the Administrative Fellowship a paid position?
Yes, UT Southwestern offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
- Are international applicants eligible for consideration?
All complete applications for qualified applicants are eligible for consideration. If you are an international applicant, please be aware that we are not able to sponsor an employment VISA.
- Am I still eligible for consideration if I received my master's degree more than 12 months before the program’s start date?
All applicants with a master's degree accredited by the programs below are welcome to apply. However, priority will be given to applicants who have completed their master's degree within 12 months of the program’s start date.
- MHA - Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME)
- MBA - Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB)
- MSN - Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)
- MPH - Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH)
- Can the UT Southwestern Administrative Fellowship be used to fulfill the residency/fellowship requirement in order to complete my master’s degree?
Yes, applicants who must complete a residency/fellowship prior to the completion of their master's degree are eligible to apply.
- Can letters of recommendation be sent separately by my references? Or should they be submitted as part of my application PDF?
We accept letters of recommendation either as separate emails from your references or included in your application. If your reference prefers to send this directly to us, they should Email here. All letters of recommendations should be addressed to the Fellowship Selection Committee and be submitted by the application deadline.
- Do you accept applications through NAFCAS?
No, we do not. Please submit your application here.
- Can I pick my rotations?
Rotations are pre-determined by the UT Southwestern Administrative Fellowship Steering Committee. However, throughout the program, fellows will have an opportunity to select an elective rotation.
- Are administrative fellows guaranteed a job at UTSW after the completion of the fellowship?
A full-time position at UT Southwestern after completion of the fellowship program is not guaranteed. While the Administrative Fellowship Steering Committee will begin employment conversations during the last 6 months of the fellowship, there is no formal obligation by either party to offer or accept a full-time position.
