Applicant must have an M.D degree or equivalent, from an approved LCME medical school and satisfactory completion of an Internal Medicine residency program and Gastroenterology fellowship from an ACGME accredited program. Candidate must be eligible for Texas medical license and be board certified in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology. Digestive and Liver Diseases Researcher
The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Digestive & Liver Diseases, is seeking a faculty member with a focus on research. The position requires doctoral degree, completion of a post-doctoral research fellowship, and the ability to establish an independent and externally funded research program. The areas of research that we seek should be relevant to inflammatory bowel disease, bacterial-host interactions, and bacterial pathogenesis. Basic research programs, that focus on the acquisition of virulence factors in commensal intestinal bacteria are preferred. In addition, the faculty member will be involved in the teaching and training of students and trainees of various levels, including graduate and medical students, and clinical and post-doctoral fellows. Consideration may be given to applicants seeking less than a full-time schedule.

Candidate must be eligible for Texas medical license and be board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. Level of appointment will be commensurate with experience. Consideration may be given to applicants seeking less than a full time schedule. The position will oversee the planned expansion of the inflammatory bowel disease practice. This position will be functioning as a gastroenterologist, with responsibilities and duties in patient care activities in IBD and general GI care, in addition to teaching and training of medical students, house staff, and fellows.
