How to Apply
A fellowship candidate for Surgical Critical Care must meet the following criteria:
- Has completed training and holds an M.D. or equivalent degree
- Is board eligible or board certified in general surgery and Plastic Surgery
Selection is based on interviews with UT Southwestern Medical Center faculty.

- Applications are to be submitted through Surgical Critical Care and Acute Care Surgery Fellowship Application Service (SAFAS)
- CV
- Three letters of recommendation
- Enrollment in match
To Apply
Candidates for Surgery Critical Care or AAST ACS Fellowship should submit an application, CV, and three letters of recommendation to SAFAS.
To Apply for our Burn & Surgical Critical Care Fellowship:
- Send an email with CV, 3 Letters of Recommendation, ABSITE Scores, USMLE Step 1 and 2 Scores, Personal Statement to Licely Acaron.
- Application Cycle is outside of the match. Applications are accepted between December 15th – February 15th annually. Interviews are conducted in February-March annually.
