The Division of Pediatric Surgery’s goal is to provide the fellow with advanced knowledge and training in managing and treating surgical disease in children.

The Division of Vascular Surgery at UT Southwestern offers a 5-year integrated Vascular Surgery Residency, in addition to a 2-year Vascular Surgery Fellowship. The integrated residency program is one of 64 approved by the Residency Review Committee.

UT Southwestern offers a two-year fellowship in Complex General Surgical Oncology. The goal of our program is to develop competent and thoughtful leaders in academic surgical oncology. Graduating surgical oncologists will be proficient in the multi-disciplinary cancer care and the surgical treatment of solid tumors, and will develop a deep understanding of malignant disease biology, diagnosis, staging evaluations, treatment options, and expected response.

Established in 1999, our breast surgical oncology program was the first pilot fellowship program to benefit from a Komen Foundation Fellowship Grant.

This introductory course in global health is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the key principles and challenges in global health today. The course examines critical global health topics such as humanitarian emergencies, refugee health, neglected tropical diseases, and non-communicable diseases. Students will also learn about the challenges faced in both local and global efforts to prevent and control health problems and gain insight into the health care systems in low- and middle-income countries.

These rotations will serve as a clearinghouse for varied types of international health experiences to include formal clinical visiting clerkships or externships at an international university-affiliated program or similar experience under the guidance of a designated faculty member.
