The Electron Microscopy Core Facility (EMCF) offers TEM of cells and tissues, negative staining, whole-mount SEM, correlative LM and EM, and immunogold labeling.
Grid availability update: Grids for all negative staining will be supplied at both the South and North locations until September 30, 2025. Beginning October 1, 2025, users will need to bring their own grids. Grids can be purchased here: EMS Diasum – Support Film on Grids

The EMCF uses PPMS for project management and equipment scheduling.

- You will receive an email with the Teams meeting link automatically.
Samples submitted from Monday to early Wednesday will be processed within the same week. Samples submitted after Wednesday will be processed in the following week.
How to find EMCF (NL 1.160)

Step-by-step directions
- From the Main Lobby elevators (west side of the NL Building), exit the elevators and turn right into the main hallway.
- Proceed straight down the hallway to the end of the corridor.
- Turn left and follow the long corridor along the Parking Garage toward the far end of the building.
- At the end of the corridor, turn right toward the elevators on the east side.
- Continue past the elevators; the Electron Microscopy Core Facility (NL 1.160) is just ahead in this area.
