Disability Insurance
The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center strongly recommends students to have disability insurance. Prior to enrollment, students are informed about the disability resources available on the SHS Disability Insurance website.
Students can utilize DoctorDisability to compare insurance policies from various nationwide companies. Additionally, students can obtain disability insurance through the Texas Medical Association Insurance Trust, offered by the Texas Medical Association, or through the American Medical Association. UTSW does not endorse or require any specific vendor or product. Information about the types of disability insurance and reasons medical students should consider this coverage is available online.
