Clinicians
Our faculty who are dedicated to the clinical care of our patients and communities make us who we are as an academic medical center. With more than 2,000 of our faculty having clinical responsibilities at UT Southwestern or an affiliated partner hospital, we have several programs to support clinical faculty development.
Pathways is a new career development workshop designed for thriving clinicians looking to deepen their academic focus. Tailored for late Assistant and early Associate Professors, the program offers guidance on building a niche in medical education, clinical research, and/or quality improvement. Learn from expert leaders and peers who’ve successfully navigated this journey – all while continuing the clinical work you love.
The Promotion and Tenure Committee ensures faculty members understand the academic advancement timeline and criteria for each distinct academic rank and track.
The SUCCESS program helps clinical faculty thrive at UT Southwestern by providing training in the four domains of excellence required for academic promotion:
- Clinicians
- Educators
- Scholars
- Institutional Citizens
