Sara Hennessy, M.D.

Assistant Professor Sara Hennessy, M.D., has been selected to receive the Barbara Berci Memorial Award from the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons Foundation. This award is given in honor and memory of Barbara Berci, SAGES executive director from 1984-1998, and is given to “accelerate leadership growth and career development of young surgeons nationally and within SAGES.”

As the recipient of the award, Dr. Hennessy will attend a leadership course, participate in a mentorship program with one of the SAGES committee chairs or board members, and complete either an ongoing committee project or a new project of her choosing.
