New Chief of the Division of Colorectal Surgery
Please join the Department of Surgery in welcoming Professor Linda Farkas, M.D., as chief of the Division of Colorectal Surgery.
Dr. Farkas earned her medical degree at the Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine and completed her general surgery residency training at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She received advanced training in colon and rectal surgery at Cook County Hospital in Chicago.
Before coming to Dallas, Dr. Farkas served as chief of the Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery at UC Davis Medical Center and previously was an associate professor of surgery at both Duke University and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC). While at UPMC, she instituted the Hereditary Colorectal Tumor Program, which increased services for high-risk patients.
