Bariatric Surgery Gets New Section Head
Benjamin Schneider, M.D., FACS, has joined UT Southwestern Medical Center as the section head of bariatric surgery.
Dr. Schneider joins the faculty from Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Massachusetts, where he served as the director of the weight loss surgery fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and the director of the weight loss surgery program at Beth Israel Deaconess - Milton. He also served on numerous committees at Beth Israel Deaconess - Boston.
Dr. Schneider received his medical degree from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver and performed his residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Dr. Schneider completed two clinical fellowships in laparoscopy, one at UT Southwestern Medical Center, and another at Beth Deaconess Medical Center.
His clinical and research interests include bariatric surgery, hernia, foregut, and outcomes in bariatric surgery.
