Awards

Parsia Vagefi, M.D., and Steven Hanish, M.D., received the Program Development Award from UT Southwestern. This award recognizes their outstanding contributions to our abdominal transplant program and is one of the Leaders in Clinical Excellence Awards given out by our institution each year.

Announcements 

Courtney Balentine, M.D., served on the study section for bioengineering, technology, and surgical sciences of the National Institutes of Health in October.

Ryan Dumas, M.D., was selected to be a mentor at Sprague College at the UT Southwestern Medical School. He was also inducted as a fellow in the American College of Surgeons.

John Mansour, M.D., was appointed to the position of vice chair of quality in our department. His role as chief of the Division of Surgical Oncology has been assumed by Adam Yopp, M.D.

Thomas Schlieve, D.D.S., M.D., was elected to a six-year term as a member of the faculty section executive committee of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He was also selected to serve on the parameters of care committee for the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
