Natasha Corbitt, M.D., Ph.D., was selected as a Dedman Family Scholar in Clinical Care. This title is accompanied by a four-year grant from the Dedman Foundation, which encourages the work of promising early-career physicians at UT Southwestern.

Madhuri Nagaraj, M.D., (with coauthors Lowe JE, Marinica AL, Morshedi BB, Isaacs SM, Miller BL, Chou AD, Cripps MW, Dumas RP) received an Excellence in Research Award for Using Trauma Video Review to Assess EMS Handoff and Trauma Team Non-Technical Skills from the judges for the upcoming ​American College of Surgeons Clinical Congress.

Announcements

Courtney Balentine, M.D., participated in the June bioengineering, technology, and surgical sciences study section of the National Institutes of Health.

Natasha Corbitt, M.D., Ph.D., gave the commencement address for Atlantic Cape Community College on June 9, 2021. She also received an honorary associate’s degree in science for her accomplishments and service to the college.

Caroline Park, M.D., was elected as the next president of the Texas Association of Surgical Skills Laboratories (TASSL). She will replace outgoing TASSL president Ganesh Sankaranarayanan, Ph.D.

Thomas Schlieve, D.D.S., M.D., was elected to serve as director on the executive board of the Dallas County Dental Society for 2021-2023. 

Sam Wang, M.D., and Malcolm MacConmara, M.D., were accepted into UT Southwestern’s Successfully Obtaining an R (SOAR) Grant Program.
