Vascular Surgery

While the overall goal of the Division of Vascular Surgery is to provide excellent patient care, the underlying mission is to create an exciting clinical environment for education and research. The Vascular Fellowship Program is one of 116 approved by the Residency Review Committee. The Division of Vascular Surgery is also responsible for providing the senior general surgery residents with a balanced experience in vascular surgery cases and offers an integrated Vascular Surgery Residency.

The service provides approximately 1,000 vascular operations each year at Parkland Hospital, UT Southwestern University Hospitals, and the Dallas Veterans Affairs Medical Center, in addition to outpatient procedures.

The Clinical Heart and Vascular Center has been instrumental in centralizing the growing referral practice of complex vascular problems, coordinating multidisciplinary management and treatment of patients’ vascular disease and co-morbid conditions, and providing longitudinal follow-up.
