Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery Fellowship

The fellowship in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery (URPS) is a three-year program, accredited by the ACGME, and designed to train obstetrician-gynecologists or urologists for productive careers in academic medicine.

Currently our URPS Fellowship Program is approved to accept one fellow per year, for a total of three fellows. The URPS program at UT Southwestern Medical Center will be participating in the NRMP fellowship match and accepting one fellow.

Although we have a set application deadline – beyond which applications will not be accepted – our process for inviting applicants for interviews is on a rolling basis. For this reason, applicants should submit all materials as early as possible.

Clinical Facilities

Fellows will rotate through:

All of these facilities are contiguous with UT Southwestern Medical School.

Each fellow is funded to attend the AUGS annual conference each year. Fellows are expected to attend the full conference. They are encouraged to present their work annually at this meeting, in addition to producing manuscripts for publication each year of the program.

Attendance at other functions may also be funded at the discretion of the Fellowship Program Director and Division Chief, particularly if research is being presented.

The Division of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery also has an active conference schedule in which all fellows are encouraged to participate.

A variety of conferences, journal clubs, grand rounds, and lectures are available. Daily lectures and grand rounds are also given by different UT Southwestern departments and are published in a monthly calendar of events.
