Emergency Radiology Fellowship

Our Sites, The Program, and Its Mission

Clinical responsibilities are divided between our two primary sites:

  • Parkland Memorial Hospital: Dallas County’s 862-bed public hospital and Level I trauma center that recorded 236,000 ER visits in 2024, the most in the nation.
  • Clements University Hospital: UT Southwestern Medical Center’s 751-bed hospital yet again and repeatedly ranked as the best hospital in North Texas and nationally ranked in more specialties than any other hospital in Texas.

These two hospitals serve as the training grounds for a fellowship that has been newly created to prepare trainees for the modern era of radiology practice. The Emergency Radiology and Acute Care Imaging Fellowship aims to provide a unique educational experience providing training in emergency radiology complemented by subspecialty acute care imaging education tailored to our fellows’ future careers in academic or private practice. This is achieved through rigorous training in emergency radiology at both Parkland and Clements University hospitals and blocks of electives that allow for fellows to pursue training in subspecialties of their choice.

Simply stated, our program mission is to provide a strong clinical and educational experience that will prepare fellows for the next stage of their careers.
