Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship Research

The UT Southwestern Division of Gynecologic Oncology actively participates in clinical trials, including investigator-initiated studies as well as studies from national cooperative groups such as NRG Oncology and the GOG Foundation.

Our Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship Program strongly supports fellows who are interested in developing clinical research ideas with full-time research staff assistance and mentorship through the study design and institutional review board approval process.

Our fellows have also been selected for the NRG Oncology Early Career Mentored Fellowship Program, which aims to assist early-stage investigators with developing and advancing research ideas through structured mentorship within the NRG Oncology system.

Fellows are encouraged to develop and complete independent clinical, basic science, and translational research projects and quality improvement projects under faculty guidance and supervision during all years of their fellowship. Fellows must defend a thesis suitable for publication prior to graduation.

Presentations and Publications

Fellows are encouraged to disseminate their research results at local, national, and international meetings and publish in peer-reviewed journals.

Our fellows present at several national conferences annually, including:

  • The Society of Gynecologic Oncology Annual Meeting on Women's Cancer and Winter Meeting
  • The Western Association of Gynecologic Oncology Annual Meeting
  • The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists Annual Meeting
