More about Life in Dallas

What Our Fellows Are Doing

Dallas is more than the Cowboys and Tex-Mex. I've been impressed by the diverse culinary scene, the stellar craft beers, and the numerous outdoor spaces. A perfect day would be running or biking around White Rock Lake, hitting up the local dog park/bar at Mutt's Cantina, grabbing a pizza at Cane Rosso or BBQ at Lockhart's, and taking a stroll down Lower Greenville Ave.

Hunter DunnFirst Year Fellow

“Dallas is a very easy city to live in with a high quality of life. Originally being from the West Coast, where it takes hours to get to anywhere and is much more expensive, I find I have even more access to great food, live events, and sports. I can do this with more frequency than before. While I'm watching many of my former co-residents enter practice and start their first 'real jobs,' living in Dallas makes me feel like my life outside of work doesn't have to be on pause.”

Andrew GilmanSecond Year Fellow

“On my days off, I usually do fun things around Oak Cliff, the neighborhood in southwest Dallas where I live. For example, I might go to the Bishop Arts area to get ice cream at Azucar or get drinks and read books at Wild Detectives. I might go run at Kiest Park or go for a walk in the woods at Cedar Ridge Preserve. If Real Madrid is playing, I like to watch them at Trinity Hall Pub or Si Tapas.”
