The mission of the Division of Clinical Genetics is to provide excellent patient care and clinical genetics services to a diverse population of adult patients with genetic disorders. Division members are joint faculty in the Eugene McDermott Center for Human Growth and Development/Center for Human Genetics, where the goal is to foster excellence in human genetics and genomics. The McDermott Center and the Division of Clinical Genetics aim to recruit staff, clinicians, trainees and faculty from various cultural and ethnic backgrounds, and to train future physicians and physician-scientists to care for patients with genetic disorders in North Texas and beyond. The McDermott Center provides expertise and resources for both clinicians and basic scientists to identify genes and sequence variation contributing to human diseases and traits.
