Our Mission

The UT Southwestern Medical Center’s Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Management Residency Program aims to develop a diverse group of residents into respected consultants and board certified anesthesiologists, who will go on to continue their training in an anesthesiology subspecialty, develop into an academician, or care for patients in private practice through the guidance and mentorship of our academic faculty. We strive for excellence in clinical care, lifelong learning through scholarly activity and research, quality improvement and patient safety initiatives, medical education and simulation, global health initiatives, and personal wellness and resilience.

Superior Training

The Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Management at UT Southwestern Medical Center, one of the six largest residency programs in the country, consistently attracts a superior quality of residents and has a long history of excellence in educating anesthesiologists and promoting the field of anesthesiology.
