Student Status Termination Updates

We recognize the uncertainty that many of our international students and scholars may be experiencing following recent media reports of Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) record terminations and student visa revocations at other academic institutions across the country. H-1B Alert: Random Biometric Appointments 

USCIS is randomly requiring biometrics (fingerprints & photo) for some H-1B applicants. Apply at least 6 months before the start date—processing may be delayed until biometrics are complete.

Our expert immigration services support UT Southwestern in attracting highly qualified international faculty, researchers, and students, contributing to campus diversity, internationalization, and academic and personal success. Additionally, we ensure compliance with government regulations, partner with departments to hire international staff, and coordinate with departments to ensure international new hires have valid work authorization.

Our Mission

The Office of International Affairs strives to enhance and facilitate the academic, research, and clinical experiences of international students, trainees, faculty, and researchers at UT Southwestern Medical Center by:

  • Providing expert immigration services and timely and pertinent informational programs.
  • Serving as advocates for the UT Southwestern international community and serve as their liaison with institutional, local, state, and federal entities.
  • Advising faculty mentors and administrative personnel regarding visa sponsorship options.

We are UT Southwestern Medical Center's Office of International Affairs, meeting the needs of our large and diverse international student population. We ensure compliance with government regulations, partner with departments to hire international staff, and coordinate with departments to ensure international new hires have valid work authorization.
