- NEW! Effective Teaching 101*
ACUE recently launched a new, shorter (5-8 hours), self-paced course, Effective Teaching 101: Starting the Semester Strong. Effective Teaching 101 (ET-101) is designed to equip faculty with a set of powerful, evidence-based teaching practices to help them start their first—and every—semester off on the right foot.
Who is this course aimed for?
- ET-101 is ideal for junior faculty new to UT Southwestern or new to teaching (e.g., Assistant Instructors, Faculty Associates, Instructors, and Assistant Professors).
- Faculty from all ranks new to the ACUE program or unable to commit to the regularly offered micro-credential courses.*
A call for applications will begin in May 2026. Placements for this course are limited.
*Please note that this course does not offer credit towards the regular ACUE Effective Teaching Practices certification pathway. This course is a shortened, condensed, version of the full certification pathway. If you have completed at least 2 or more of the micro-credentialling courses, then ET-101 may not benefit you.
What are the Benefits?
- Receive a micro-credential to add to, and strengthen, your CV
- Fully online courses
- Asynchronous learning
- Zero cost
- Full support from ACUE experts
- Requires only ~2 hours of activity per week
- A single course takes ~6-8 weeks to complete
